Music for a Celebration

St Mary's Church, Redgrave, Diss, Suffolk

Saturday 3rd October 2009 at 6.30pm

(Entrance Free with retiring collection in Aid of CCT)

The choir will entertain with a variety of music ranging from Zadok the Priest and the Hallelujah Chorus by Handel, to Gilbert and Sullivan, a little light jazz and some well-loved choruses from the Opera. Also included will be some items performed with those attending the workshop in the afternoon.

The event is taking place to mark the 40th birthday of the Churches Conservation Trust, the national charity that cares for England's finest historic churches no longer required for regular worship such as St Mary's Church, Redgrave. Forty choirs will be performing in 40 churches cared for by the Trust, enabling visitors to experience these ancient spaces and discover how they can be used.

Visit the Churches Conservation Trust website and learn more about the work of the Trust and about the 340+ historic churhes nationwide in its care.

Entrance Free with retiring collection in aid of CCT
Tickets can be purchased in advance but will also be available on the door.

A Singing Workshop

from 3pm to 5.30pm

During the afternoon the Choir invites you to a singing workshop - an opportunity to work with our Director, Christopher Phelps, and the choir on a varied and light programme of music, including rounds and part-songs and the CCT Birthday Song. The music will be suitable for those with no singing experience, but interesting and varied enough for those who sing more regularly. We aim to have a fun but productive afternoon, with tea provided by the choir.

The cost for the workshop will be £5.
For the Workshop please apply to Celia Edey:
Please give an indication if you have any singing experience or none (ALL levels are welcome!)
